Employees may report to their company that they have a problem with their health which
is causing difficulties or safety issues with them performing their normal job. E.g.
employees with heart problems, stroke, dizziness, diabetes, epilepsy, depression or
stress. We can meet with your employee whom you have fitness concerns about and discuss
confidentially and in detail their health, personal issues and work duties and hours.

We can give you an independent opinion on the employee’s level of fitness for their normal hours and duties. The employee’s own doctors (GP or hospital doctors) may have excellent knowledge of their health but very little understanding of the physical, mental and safety aspects of the employee’s job.
If the employee is unfit to work their normal hours and duties we can advise you on what they could potentially do instead – either on a temporary basis or a permanent one. It is your company's decision as to whether the adjustments are viable.
All advice is given with regard to the requirements of health and safety legislation and the Disability laws.
Our advice will be clear and decisive so that you can manage the situation fairly.
